As a brand, Bear designs many of its mattresses with athletes in mind, and that extends to the Bear Cub — their first bed made just for kids. It is a hybrid mattress, meaning it is made of one layer of foam and one of coils, which can help ease growing pains and encourage proper spinal alignment. Bear also offers a cover made of Tencel, which is soft, breathable, and could help active kids cool down after a day of playing sports or being outside. The cover is also hypoallergenic.
What Customers Say:
Parents universally agree that the Bear Cub is a great option for their kids. One even stated that, true to the bed’s name, it has their kids “sleeping like bear cubs”.

What our tester says:
“I’d recommend the Bear Elite Hybrid for most back and stomach sleepers.I think these sleepers will get the needed pressure relief and contouring around the lower back and hips. This mattress does a wonderful job at offering body contouring while still helping the sleeper stay elevated and lifted as well. The layers of foam should provide comfort while the coil system should offer lots of support.” – Nichole Mondshein, lead reviewer and mattress tester

Even though it’s made entirely of foam, the Bear has a firm, supportive feel that should be sturdy enough for back sleepers and stomach sleepers alike. Additionally, combination sleepers should be able to easily move around on its surface. You can also pay extra for a Celliant cover that may help with cooling and muscle recovery. Learn more in our video review.
What our tester says:
“I found the double poly foam construction produced a firm, supportive feel. Though you’re likely to sink into its top layer of memory foam, this sinkage is somewhat curbed by the taut poly foam transition layer. This means most folks are going to be positioned more “on top” of the structure than “in” it.” – Nichole Mondshein, lead reviewer and mattress tester

What our tester says:
“After testing out the Bear Star, I found it to be really cozy. I loved how plush the surface of the mattress felt as I was lying on it, but I still felt super supported. Although it’s an all-foam bed, we found the 10-inch version to be fairly firm and responsive

The Emma mattress is an all-foam bed, meaning that it includes four layers of foam in its construction and it doesn’t include any coils or springs. However, these are not all layers of memory foam (which you might have been thinking). Instead, the Emma uses Point Elastic Airgocell foam, HALO memory foam, and HRX (High Resiliency Extra) Supreme Foam throughout its build. These dense foams create a firm mattress, which is actually uncommon for this kind of bed. Because of this firmness, the Emma is a good fit for back, stomach, and combination sleepers who like more of an “on top” feel to their mattress. Check out more in our video review.
What our tester says:
“I think the Emma is a great choice for back sleepers. Although this is an all-foam mattress, it should have the right combination of comfort and support that these folks need. Stomach sleepers should also find the support they need.” – Nichole Mondshein, lead reviewer and staff writer

A mattress made for sleepers weighing 250+ pounds, the Nolah Evolution Comfort+ utilizes individually pocketed coils and other quality materials to create one of the most supportive beds on the market. Still, it tested incredibly for pressure relief, and should provide pain alleviation for back and side sleepers battling back, shoulder, and hip pain. This luxury option features lots of cooling features as well. Learn more in our video review.
What our tester says:
“As a mattress designed for heavy people, who weigh 250 pounds or more, I think the Nolah Evolution Comfort+ really succeeds. It is highly supportive, responsive, and yet also offers plush comfort. I particularly appreciate how it could work to relieve pressure points for heavy side sleepers — many mattresses for heavy folks are on the firmer side and don’t provide tons of cushioning.” – Amelia Jerden, senior staff writer

Saatva Mattress
The Saatva comes in three firmness options. The Plush Soft version of the Saatva is a good choice for side sleepers, as it will cradle their joints nicely.
We were skeptical of buying a mattress on line but it could not have gone any smoother. Anthony answered all of our questions during our many phone conversations. Delivery was prompt and went without a hitch. Best of all the mattress is so comfortable! I haven't had such a good night sleep in years. Highly recommend this.

With three firmness options, most sleepers should find a Saatva model that works for them The Saatva uses high-quality materials that will last you a long time Its bouncy and responsive feel means it’s great for combination sleepers The Saatva’s reinforced edges give it some of the best edge support we’ve ever seen
Cons of the Saatva Mattress
If you’re looking for lots of sinkage or amazing motion isolation, you’re better off with one of the best memory foam mattresses. None of the Saatva Classic models will likely be supportive enough for heavy stomach sleepers. For these folks, we recommend the Saatva HD.
The Saatva’s coil-on-coil construction provides a classic innerspring feel. It’s a good option for combo sleepers, who will want to feel free to switch positions and avoid feeling “stuck” in the mattress. It comes in three firmness levels, so you should be able to find one that suits your needs. The white glove delivery Saatva provides is an added perk and will save you the headache of getting rid of your old mattress (they take it away for free!). For more information, watch our video review.
What our tester says:
“I thought the Saatva was super easy to move around on thanks to its coil layers and cushiony foam top. I found the Luxury Firm model to have a very supportive, yet plush feel that kept me comfortable in multiple sleep positions.” – Bridget Chapman, former Sleepopolis senior product editor

Great motion isolation makes it a good choice for couples A bouncy feel makes it easy to move around on An airy hybrid construction keeps the mattress cool
Cons of the Emma Hybrid Comfort
Too firm for side sleepers, who won’t receive adequate pressure relief on the shoulder and hip. We suggest looking at the best mattresses for side sleepers instead Edge support didn’t impress us — you may not feel supported if you sit or lie along the edge. Some of our favorite options for edge support are in our best mattresses that won’t sag roundup
The Emma Hybrid Comfort is a firm mattress with a durable hybrid construction. It works well for heavyweight stomach and back sleepers, as it provides enough support to keep these sleepers’ spines in neutral alignment. In addition to making it a good choice for heavier people, the Emma Hybrid Comfort’s design also gives it nice breathability and responsiveness, meaning it stays cool as you sleep and is easy to move around on.
What our tester says:

It’s a good choice for budget shoppers. Cons of the Brooklyn Bedding Signature Hybrid
It doesn’t have that sinking-in feeling often found in the best memory foam mattresses The Medium mattress is too firm for side sleepers and too soft for stomach sleepers (though the Soft or Firm model may work, respectively)
The Brooklyn Bedding Signature Hybrid mattress combines a foam comfort layer and study coils. This combination of materials makes it bouncy and easy to move around on. It comes in three firmness levels, and we recommend the Medium model for most back sleepers. It’s a great choice for shoppers who are looking for a new mattress on a budget. . Great for couples due to its good edge support and low motion transfer Works for back sleepers who need good lumbar support Side sleepers will appreciate the pressure relief
Cons of the Nolah Evolution
Too soft for most stomach sleepers Bargain hunters may find this to be a bit pricier Doesn’t have a slow-moving memory foam feel
The Nolah Evolution’s hybrid construction offers the cushioning of memory foam with the responsiveness of coils. The Luxury Firm model is a good option for side and back sleepers due to its medium-firm feel, though there are Plush and Firm versions as well. Those who share a bed may also appreciate its low motion transfer, so you won’t be disturbed by a partner’s movements and its solid edge support to allow you to maximize surface area. For more information, check out our video review.
What our tester says:
“I laid down to rest on this mattress on my back — my primary sleep position. I felt comfortable, but also appreciated the cozy, plush top of the bed. After some time lying on my back, I switched over to my side. I didn’t find this position quite as comfortable, as I did feel some slight pressure buildup in my shoulder.” – Amelia Jerden, senior staff writer

The Nectar offers a classic memory foam feel, with deep sinkage and contouring Side sleepers should enjoy how the soft foams relieve pressure on their shoulder and hip Back sleepers should also feel supported, but pleasantly cushioned on the Nectar Couples shouldn’t be too disturbed by movement, as the Nectar isolates motion well
Cons of the Nectar Mattress
Stomach sleepers likely won’t get enough support for spinal alignment from the Nectar While it incorporates some cooling materials but it’s not by any means the best cooling mattress The Nectar isn’t supportive enough to be one of the best mattresses for heavy sleepers, which accommodate folks weighing 250 pounds or more
The Nectar delivers on classic memory foam: it’s soft, contouring, and provides a slow-sinking feel. Still, it provides solid support for most light to average weight sleepers. The cushioning memory foam allows for plenty of pressure relief on pain points, like shoulders and hips. Side sleepers especially should enjoy the pressure relief. Plus, a lengthy trial period, lifetime warranty, and affordable price make the Nectar a reassuring choice for many. Watch our video review to learn more.

What our tester says:

The Dreamfoam Essential is a versatile mattress, available in a laundry list of sizes, heights, and price points It’s one of the few mattresses available in every RV size Although it’s an all-foam bed, we found the 10-inch version to be fairly firm and responsive
Cons of the Dreamfoam Essential
Although they might fare better on the tallest 14-inch model, heavy sleepers probably aren’t going to get the support they need on the Dreamfoam Essential, check out our best mattresses for heavy people The warranty is only 10 years, and with foam mattresses — which tend to be less durable than hybrid and innerspring mattresses — we prefer to see something longer
The Dreamfoam Essential is a high-quality budget option, with enough firmness levels, height options, and price points to suit a wide variety of sleepers. We think RV-specific sizes make it especially good for travelers. Learn more in our Dreamfoam Essential video review.
What our tester says:
“When I was on my back my weight felt evenly distributed. I sunk into the memory foam comfort layer just a touch and enjoyed some body-contouring, while the firmer support layer ensured my hips stayed elevated and aligned with my spine.” – Logan Block, former Sleepopolis director of content and mattress tester

Includes a thick, contouring comfort layer that helps alleviate joint pain Isolates motion well, making it great for couples It tested well for edge support, so you should be able to spread out across the mattress surface This mattress gets its support from a 7-inch layer of high-density support foam
Cons of the Nectar Premier
Stomach sleepers won’t get the support they need from the Nectar Premier. The Nectar Premier isn’t quite supportive enough for sleepers over 250 pounds, instead our best mattresses for heavy people will offer that support.
The Nectar Premier is a luxurious all-foam mattress equipped with quality materials. A moisture-wicking cover and gel-infused comfort layer create a cooling, thermoregulating mattress for hot sleepers. Perhaps its strongest attribute is its next-level pressure relief. Six inches of foam work to contour sensitive areas, but the high-density foam at the bottom of the bed provides plenty of support. Watch our video review to learn more.
What our tester says:
“My favorite thing about the Nectar Premier is its great pressure relief. This medium-soft mattress is a great fit for side sleepers looking for plush comfort. It might also be a nice fit for sleepers who deal with shoulder pain.” – Bridget Chapman, former Sleepopolis senior product editor

Heavy sleepers should find this mattress comfortable and supportive It isolates motion well, so couples shouldn’t disturb each other as they move around on it It’s responsive, so combination sleepers should move around easily on it It’s durable and has great edge support — it should last for many years
Cons of the Titan Plus
Despite being overall supportive, the Titan Plus Luxe still is likely too soft for heavy stomach sleepers, check out our best mattresses for heavy people This bed doesn’t offer deep sinkage or body contouring, which can help with pressure relief, check out our best memory foam mattresses Lightweight sleepers may find this bed too firm so they might be better off with one of the best mattresses for lightweight sleepers

It sleeps cool, and its materials are designed to be breathable and cool to the touch Under $2,000 for a queen, which is a great deal for a luxury mattress Fans of soft mattresses should love this Helix model, it’s rated 6/10 on our firmness scale, which is softer than average
Cons of the Helix Midnight Luxe

During our pressure map test, the Puffy Lux Hybrid showed little pressure at the back The breathable coils and special memory foam make this a cooling mattress The soft foams provide a lot of cushioning at the body’s pressure points, such as the shoulders and hips
Cons of the Puffy Lux Hybrid
The Puffy Lux Hybrid is likely going to be too soft for stomach sleepers Heavy people who weigh more than 250 pounds should seek out a more supportive mattress
Despite the presence of coils, the Puffy Lux Hybrid is an incredibly soft mattress that should give you a ton of pressure relief, but without you sinking too far into the bed. Side sleepers should be especially drawn to this mattress, as it will provide them with lots of contouring at their pressure points. Learn more in our Puffy Lux Hybrid video review.
What our tester says:

A queen is usually under $1,000 before discounts, making the Endy a good choice for budget shoppers For a memory foam mattress, the Endy sleeps fairly cool The Endy’s responsiveness also makes it a good mattress for sex
Cons of the Endy
We don’t think there’s enough contouring here at the shoulders and hips for strict side sleepers The Endy also isn’t firm or supportive enough for strict stomach sleepers
Manufactured in Canada, the Endy is a soft all-foam mattress that also offers a bit of responsiveness. Back sleepers should be comfortable on it, and combination sleepers should be able to easily switch sleeping positions. It’s also affordably priced, making it an excellent budget option. The Helix Plus has a soft and breathable Tencel cover, plus a support layer of coils that keep the mattress cool For proper support, the Helix Plus is built with dense foams and sturdy materials that should help it last 10 years or more Mattresses built for heavy people are usually firm, but the Helix Plus has a rare sinking feeling associated with memory foam
Cons of the Helix Plus
Heavy and average weight stomach sleepers probably aren’t going to get enough firmness and support from the Helix Plus Heavy combination sleepers might feel stuck in the mattress material
As a company, Helix is famous for creating high-quality hybrid mattresses for affordable prices. The Pro Hybrid is a good choice for back sleepers due to its pressure relief and support around the lumbar region Couples should appreciate the mix of mobility and motion isolation this bed offers If you tend to overheat while sleeping, this mattress should help you stay cool
Cons of the Bear Pro Hybrid
The Pro Hybrid is not the best option for side sleepers, who tend to need more cushioning around their shoulder and hips Fans of mattresses with a traditional memory foam feel will likely find this one to feel too springy Heavy sleepers may not get the support they need and should opt for a different mattress
The Bear Pro Hybrid boasts good responsiveness, cooling, and pressure relief, thanks to its cooling gel memory foam and individually-wrapped coils. A medium-firm mattress, the Pro Hybrid works for lots of different types of sleepers, but it’s a great option for couples and back sleepers in particular. Heavy sleepers will likely find that the mattress doesn’t provide enough support. For more information, check out our video review.
What our tester says:
“The Bear Pro Hybrid offers an overall firm feel, but as I was resting on it, I did notice that I was sinking into the foam for some light contouring. It’s a very slow sink — if you just sit or lie on the bed, you won’t feel much give, but the longer you lay on it, the more you’ll sink in. I felt fairly comfortable sleeping on my back on this bed. It’s definitely a good pick for those who want a firmer feel, but still like that bit of cushioning for the shoulders and filling in around the lumbar region.” – Amelia Jerden, senior staff writer

The Plank Firm often appears on many of our roundups pertaining to spinal health and back pain. This mattress is a good choice for couples; it scored 4 out 5 or more for motion isolation, edge support, and cooling. The quality materials, from its firm cover to its high-density foams, make it an extremely durable option.
Cons of the Plank Firm
Side sleepers won’t receive the proper cushioning or contouring on the Plank Firm. It’s not the best mattress for alleviating joint pain because of its firmer feel.
The Plank Firm is not only unique in that it’s one of the firmest mattresses out there, but it’s also flippable. Each side features tons of firm support, and the option to test out which side is best for you should largely appeal to back, stomach, combination sleepers, and those with larger body types. Stomach sleepers and heavyweight sleepers won’t find the firmness and support they need Unfortunately, this mattress is only available to those residing in Canada
If you’re a Canadian resident looking for a versatile foam mattress, set your sights on the original Douglas mattress. Different foam layers give the mattress its softer foam feel (some for cooling, some for contouring, and some for support), but you should still find ease of movement on this bed. Its cooling features and impressive testing scores show us this bed is suitable for a wide variety of sleepers. For more, see our video review.
What our tester says:
“My favorite thing about the Douglas was its benefits for combination sleepers. Not only is it just soft enough to keep them comfortable, but it also allows them to change positions and move around with ease. It has a memory foam feel that should conform to the body quite nicely, which will be a plus for side sleepers as well.” – Logan Block, former Sleepopolis content director and mattress tester

Pros of the Helix Dusk
For a bit more money, you can get the Helix Dusk in a luxury version that comes with a pillow top and Tencel cover The Dusk should sleep fairly cool, thanks to its airflow-promoting coils. The Helix Dawn Luxe sleeps even cooler due to its soft and breathable Tencel cover The springs give the Helix Dusk a good deal of bounce and responsiveness that should make it easy for combination sleepers to change positions
Cons of the Helix Dusk
The softness of this mattress isn’t going to be an ideal fit for stomach sleepers. They’ll need something more supportive to keep their hips elevated and in line with their shoulders Likewise, heavy sleepers over 250 pounds will likely need a firmer and more supportive mattress
Helix has a line of six hybrid mattresses, each with a different level of firmness. The Dusk is one of their softer models. It has enough contouring for side sleepers, but should still be supportive enough for back sleepers, as long as they don’t mind a softer bed. Learn more in our video review of all the Helix mattresses.
What our tester says:
“Both Helix Dusk mattresses offer a balance of support and pressure relief that back sleepers should really appreciate. I personally enjoy a balanced feel, and I liked that these beds offer a nice blend of body contouring and bounce.” – Logan Block, former Sleepopolis content director and mattress tester

The Saatva comes in three firmness options. The Plush Soft version of the Saatva is a good choice for side sleepers, as it will cradle their joints nicely.
The Logan & Cove Choice scored excellently on our responsiveness test, so it should be a good option for combination sleepers This mattress includes a cooling cover and gel-infused memory foam to prevent sleepers from overheating This bed performed well in four of the most important considerations for couples: motion isolation, cooling, edge support, and responsiveness
Cons of the Logan & Cove Choice
Our pressure map test didn’t show the best results for side sleepers with severe hip pain Stomach sleepers over 130 pounds may find this mattress to be too soft
The Logan & Cove Choice is a hybrid mattress, using both foam for cushioning and coils for support. This creates an overall balanced and true medium-firm feel that should primarily appeal to back sleepers and side sleepers. We think couples should enjoy the cooling abilities as well as the good motion isolation. See our Logan & Cove video review for more information on the brand.
What our tester says:
“When I was testing the Logan & Cove Choice, I felt ‘on top’ of the bed, but still received some contouring from the plush upper layer. I think the zoned system in the coils also helps to provide this medium-firm feel, as it helps to keep you lifted up while still receiving pressure relief.” – Amelia Jerden, senior staff writer

We definitely think this is a cooler-sleeping mattress. We measured its temperature increase with our thermal gun, and found it to have good cooling capabilities A queen size can often be found for under $1,000 before discounts, so we think the Silk & Snow is a natural choice for anyone with a strict budget Our pressure map showed that the Silk & Snow Hybrid puts hardly any pressure on the back. So it could be a sensible choice for anyone who experiences back pain
Cons of the Silk & Snow Hybrid
As a medium-firm mattress, the Silk & Snow Hybrid is probably too soft for stomach sleepers
As an affordable option with a medium-firm feel, we think that the Silk & Snow Hybrid should appeal to a wide variety of sleepers, including back sleepers, side sleepers, hot sleepers, and budget shoppers. Learn more in our full video review, where we compare the Silk & Snow Hybrid to the original Silk & Snow, which doesn’t have coils.

The liquid-repellant cover makes it ideal for kids We were impressed with the edge support on this all-foam mattress Our pressure map showed low pressure buildup in the back-sleeping position, so it should help alleviate back pain
Cons of the Polysleep Mattress
Being a foam mattress, the Polysleep doesn’t dissipate heat as well as other beds This bed has a simple construction, so if you’re wanting lots of specail features, look at the best luxury mattresses
If you’re a back sleeper or a side sleeper in search of a softer mattress, you might just love the Polysleep. It’s an all-foam mattress with a plush feel that still manages to support the hips in a neutral alignment. We think couples will particularly enjoy this mattress, as it scored well in edge support and motion isolation. See the Polysleep video review more in-depth information.
What our tester says:
“I really appreciate the squishy yet supportive feel of the Polysleep mattress. Its responsive foam allows it to be a great fit for back sleepers along with a lot of side sleepers and couples.” – Bridget Chapman, former Sleepopolis senior product editor

Couples should appreciate that this bed excels in cooling, responsiveness, edge support, and motion isolation This mattress has enough support for heavy sleepers over 250 pounds The medium-firm feel is ideal for back and side sleepers of most body types
Cons of the Nolah Evolution Comfort+
Stomach sleepers won’t receive the proper firmness to keep the hips lifted. Because it’s a luxury mattress, it’s not the best choice for budget shoppers.

Pros of the Cocoon Chill
The Cocoon Chill lives up to its name and sleeps cooler than most memory foam mattresses, which makes it a great pick for hot sleepers Those same cooling capabilities, plus good motion isolation, help make it a good pick for couples It’s a high-value budget pick
Cons of the Cocoon Chill
The Chill’s edge support could be better Customers don’t love Sealy’s customer service
If you’re looking for an affordable memory foam mattress that sleeps cool, you’ll find it in the Cocoon Chill. The mattress has high-tech phase change materials in the cover, which absorb heat and won’t cause you to wake up sweating. It works well for average-weight back sleepers, as well as lightweight and average-weight side sleepers. Couples should also appreciate the mattress—it boasts above-average motion isolation so you’re unlikely to wake a partner with tossing and turning. Watch our video review for more details.

Side and back sleepers should appreciate the contouring memory foam. Our pressure map revealed that the TEMPUR-Cloud eases back, shoulder, and hip pain. Couples should appreciate its outstanding motion isolation. You’re unlikely to feel your partner moving on the other side of the bed
Tempur-Pedic is famous in the mattress world for creating deeply contouring and healing memory foam mattresses. Their luxurious bed, the TEMPUR-Cloud, is extremely popular amongst joint pain sufferers and anyone wanting top-tier pressure relief. We recommend this mattress to back sleepers, side sleepers, and anyone combatting aches and pains. Check out our TEMPUR-Cloud video review to learn more.
What our tester says:
“Although you definitely get some deep body-contouring and pressure relief from the top layers of memory foam, the base layer of high-density poly foam creates enough firmness to place the mattress right above medium-firm.” – Bridget Chapman, former Sleepopolis senior product editor

The mattress is ideal for those who like the classic memory foam feel, but also don’t like feeling like they’re trapped in foam Side sleepers will appreciate how effectively the mattress cushions the hips and shoulders to relieve pressure If you need a customized bed size for your RV or camper, Tochta can help—the brand specializes in custom mattress sizes
Cons of the Tochta Utopia
Stomach sleepers will find this mattress to be far too soft If you like to sleep on a firmer bed with a bouncier feel, you’ll likely find this mattress doesn’t provide the type of support you’re looking for
The Tochta Utopia is a memory foam mattress from a brand known for its custom size offerings. If you want a custom-sized bed for an RV or camper, Tochta can craft a Utopia to fit your space without sacrificing on comfort level or support. A softer-than-average mattress, the Utopia provides good pressure relief for side sleepers, who will feel supported and cradled by its contouring comfort layer. Heavier sleepers, however, will likely find that it doesn’t provide enough support.
What our tester says:
“I think this Tochta mattress is an exceptional choice for side sleepers due to its plushy layers of foam that cushion the shoulders and hips. I also think that this foam will really impress the memory foam lovers out there as it lacks the sinking quicksand feeling that other mattresses tend to have. Along with the memory foam, the latex foam addition should prove to be a home run for couples, too.” – Logan Block, former Sleepopolis content director and mattress tester

Hot sleepers will appreciate that the mattress is made with a cooling cover, cooling foam, and a layer of encased coils for added airflow Back and combination sleepers should get just the right amount of firmness and bounce It’s a great option for smaller bodies and more affordable than most, which makes it a good pick for kids and teens
Cons of the Dreamfoam Hybrid
Heavy sleepers will likely need more support than the Dreamfoam Hybrid provides Stomach sleepers should seek out a firmer mattress—this one leads to too much sinkage At the other end of the scale, strict side sleepers will likely find that it doesn’t provide enough pressure relief for optimal comfort
The Dreamfoam Hybrid is an affordable mattress that’s designed to provide above-average cooling for hot sleepers, with a cooling cover, gel-infused foam, and pocket coils to provide optimal thermo-regulation. The mattress has a medium-firm firmness and bouncy responsiveness that should work well for couples and combination sleepers, as well as lightweight and average-weight back sleepers. Given its low price tag, it’s a great option for children and teens, as well as guest bedroom beds. The mattress also comes in three RV-specific sizes, so it’s a great budget option for your mobile home adventures. The Saatva comes in three firmness options. The Plush Soft version of the Saatva is a good choice for side sleepers, as it will cradle their joints nicely.
The Recore tests well for motion isolation, so you can move around on it without waking your partner on the other side of the bed It has a medium-firm firmness that shows little-to-no pressure buildup in all sleep positions, so combination sleepers should get a good night of sleep on it The mattress sleeps cooler than most due to its cooling cover and breathable latex layers
Cons of the Recore Mattress
The mattress is too soft for most stomach sleepers The Recore is lacking in edge support, so if you like to sleep at the side of your mattress, you might feel at risk of sliding off
The Recore is a four-layer mattress made with memory foam and latex. Due to its latex layers, the mattress sleeps cool and boasts good responsiveness, which makes it well-suited to combination sleepers who frequently change positions throughout the night. The Recore’s medium-firm firmness and above-average pressure relief help it support the needs of most sleepers, including back and side sleepers; however, it’s too soft for most stomach sleepers. Given that the mattress includes latex in its memory foam construction, it has a budget-friendly price tag. Check out our Recore video review for more about the mattress.
What our tester says:
“I found this mattress to be quite gentle and cozy, giving it a 5.5/10 on the firmness scale. I’m about 5’10”, 190 pounds, so when I stretch out on top of a bed like this, I immediately start to feel myself sinking into the soft layers of foam in the comfort and transition layers. Though the buoyant lift of the latex did keep me positioned more on top of the bed than in it, I still felt a nice hug from the mattress.” – Logan Block, former Sleepopolis content director and mattress tester

The Emma is a great mattress option for back sleepers because of the zoned support included in its construction The Emma is a great mattress for sex, which is atypical for an all-foam mattress. The elevated feel of the Emma makes it easy for couples to switch positions and move around during amorous activities Stomach sleepers should be get the support they need from the Emma
Cons of the Emma Mattress
Heavier sleepers need more support than most, and most likely won’t find it in the Emma
“If you crave a supportive foam mattress that still gives you some contouring, the Emma won’t steer you wrong. It features a moderate level of body-contouring and sinkage, but its Airgocell layer balances things out on top.” – Bridget Chapman, senior product editor
Winkbeds GravityLux Mattress
A Fantastic Option for Couples
WinkBeds GravityLux Mattress
The WinkBeds GravityLux is a memory foam mattress with several different firmnesses available.
For a foam mattress, it’s extremely durable and should be able to support heavier sleepers It’s also supportive enough for back sleepers and stomach sleepers, as long as they prefer a firm bed It’s available in three different firmness levels, so you have some flexibility with the type of model you buy
Cons of the Winkbeds GravityLux Mattress
Side sleepers or anyone looking for a traditional memory foam feel isn’t going to find it in the GravityLux.
The WinkBeds Gravity Lux stands out for being made entirely of foam, yet still very firm and supportive (note: it comes in three different firmness levels and we tested the Firm). Back sleepers, stomach sleepers, and heavy sleepers, should all get the support they need. Learn more in our video review.
What our tester says:
“My favorite thing about this mattress is its durability. This is a long-lasting mattress that won’t start to sag anytime soon. This is an especially nice feature for a foam mattress to have, since memory foam normally starts to break down earlier than other mattress materials.” – Madison Schaper, former staff writer

Cons of the Nolah Original Mattress
This mattress is likely not supportive or durable enough for heavy folk (those weighing over 250 pounds). We recommend one of our best mattresses for heavy people Stomach sleepers may experience back pain when sleeping on this soft mattress. These sleepers may be more comfortable on a firmer mattress
The Nolah Original 10″ mattress is created with Nolah’s proprietary AirFoam. This material mimics the body contouring provided by memory foam, but without the heat trapping. The Tencel cover aids with additional cooling. With soft foams and solid support, this mattress is best for back and side sleepers. Learn more in our video review.
What our tester says:
Overall, I think this mattress could be a good pick for couples. Looking at the motion transfer results, it’s a safe bet that you won’t be disturbed by your partner tossing and turning at night. I would suggest couples purchase a queen-size mattress or larger, since the edge support on this mattress is just okay and it may be more difficult to comfortably sleep on the full surface of the bed.” – Madison Schaper, former staff writer

This mattress is also a good choice for couples due to its responsiveness and ability to isolate motion. Learn more in our video review.
What our tester says:
“It’s worth mentioning the Casper is zoned for support. So, it uses firmer foams at the lower back for extra lift, and softer foams at the shoulders for extra cushion around pressure points. This combo is nice for sleepers suffering from lower back or shoulder pain, since it helps keep the spine in a healthy alignment without creating stiffness in the shoulder area.” – Bridget Chapman, former senior product editor

Yes, smart beds are expensive. However, luxury mattresses that are not “smart” can also be very expensive, so you will need to consider what you really want out of your bed and your budget to decide if a smart bed is worth the price.
Are smart beds better than other beds?
Not necessarily. Smart beds are a great option for couples, people with pain, or people with specific needs, but they are not ideal for everyone. Some people may still really enjoy a traditional mattress, or even prefer it. Consider the things we have mentioned in this review to decide if a smart bed is ready for you.
Do smart beds help you sleep better?
They certainly can! Smart beds can stay cooler than other beds, adjust to your needs, and help you find a position that is just right. In this way, smart beds can help you get really good sleep. However, so can traditional mattresses, so you will just need to think about what you need most out of your mattress.
What are the cons of smart beds?
Smart beds can be really expensive and sometimes they require unique bases, bed frames, and other technology to make them work properly, so they may not be a good option for people shopping on a budget or not looking for tech savvy bed.
